What bE2 / 6E2 / E2 means

Samsung washers with a digital display, front-load and top-load, show E2, bE2, or 6E2 when the control reads a button as stuck or pressed continuously. Examples of models that display it include the WF455ARGSGR/A2 (bE2) and the WF45M5500A, which shows BC2. On some models BE2 or 8E2 is a motion sensor error instead, so the user manual for your model decides which one applies. The washer may ignore button presses.

1. Turn the washer off. 2. Press each button on the panel and work it back and forth so you reach every edge, which can free a button that is sticking. 3. Wipe the panel dry and keep sprays off the buttons. 4. Turn the washer on again. If the code returns or a button looks damaged, request service.

Why does my washer say bE2 when I am not touching it?

The control reads one button as continuously pressed, which can come from a sticky or swollen button, debris, or moisture. Working each button back and forth often releases it.

Is bE2 ever a different problem?

On some models BE2 or 8E2 refers to a motion sensor instead of a button. If working the buttons does nothing, the model's own manual or our check tells which applies.

Will it clear on its own?

If the button frees up, turning the washer off and on clears it. If it returns, the panel needs a look, and we price it in writing before any work.
