What Cb / C6 means
Samsung washers with a digital display, front-load and top-load, show Cb or C6 while the washer is in calibration mode. Calibration resets how the washer senses the weight of a load, which it uses to set the water amount, and it is normally run at the end of installation. It turns the drum or tub for roughly one to three minutes and then ends by itself. The washer must be empty, and this is a routine, not an error.
Common causes of Cb / C6
- Calibration started during or after installation
- Load left inside during calibration
- Washer moved or leveled recently
- Weight detection that no longer reads normally
1. Take all laundry and items out of the washer. 2. Close the door or lid and let the calibration run; it ends by itself after a few minutes. 3. Do not interrupt it by opening the door. 4. After it finishes, run a normal cycle to confirm the washer fills normally.
- If calibration keeps starting on its own, we check what triggers it.
- If it ends but fill levels still look wrong, we test the weight and water level sensing.
- We confirm the washer is level, since that affects the reading.
Other Washer codes
Is Cb a problem code?
No. It means the washer is recalibrating its weight sensing, so the water amount matches the load. It is a normal routine, usually after installation.
How long does calibration take?
It typically runs one to three minutes while the drum or tub turns, then stops. If it is still going after much longer, call us.
Can I leave clothes in during calibration?
No. The washer must be empty or the reading will be wrong. Remove the contents and run it again. Items inside can skew the weight reading, and the washer then sets the wrong water amount afterward.
