What AC4 / AE4 means
On Samsung WF45-series front-load washers, AC4 or AE4 means the Wi-Fi module is not answering the main control board. Models that use this table include the WF45M5500A, WF455ARGSGR/A2, and the WD53DBA900HZA1 combo. The washer can stop with the code on the display because the main board does not sense the module. This is a communication problem between two boards rather than a water or drum issue, so the load itself is not the cause.
Common causes of AC4 / AE4
- Wi-Fi module connector on the main board
- Wiring between the module and the main board
- Solder joints on the module board
- Main board communication circuit
1. Power the washer down for two to three minutes. 2. Power it up and try the cycle once more. 3. Check that the washer has a steady power connection and that the outlet is not shared with a heavy appliance. 4. If AC4 or AE4 returns, schedule a visit and leave the cabinet closed.
- A restart cannot show whether the Wi-Fi module or the link to it is the weak point.
- We inspect the module connector and soldering on the control side and test the harness.
- We confirm the washer runs normally once the link is restored before closing the job.
Other Washer codes
Does AC4 mean my Wi-Fi network is down?
No. The code is about the module inside the washer talking to its own main board, not about your home network. Your router being off will not cause it.
Can I run the washer without Wi-Fi?
The code usually stops the cycle, so the washer will not run until the link is restored. A restart may clear it briefly, but a repeat needs testing.
Is AE4 different from AC4?
They describe the same condition on these washers. The letters differ only by how the display shows the character, so we treat them together. Telling us which one you see still helps us.
