What E-26 means

Code E-26 appears on Samsung US microwaves as a temperature not over AD error. AD is the control's reading of the sensor signal, and the message says that signal did not rise past the level the control expected during heating. The oven shows the code and stops the heating mode instead of continuing without a rising reading. Food left inside will stay cold or only partly cooked.

Common causes of E-26

  • A sensor signal that stayed flat while heating was called for
  • A heating path that did not warm the cavity
  • A loose sensor connection that gives no change
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Disconnect the oven at the outlet or the breaker. 2. Allow time for any moisture to dry, then pause 60 seconds. 3. Turn power on and try a short grill or convection run. 4. Watch whether the display holds a normal temperature. 5. The code returning is our cue to request service.

! Why to stop there
  • A reading that never rises can mean no heat or a sensor that cannot report it, and the code does not choose between the two.
  • We test whether the cavity actually warms and compare that with what the control reads.

Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E-26E-26 questions
What does AD mean on the display?

AD is the control's internal reading of the sensor signal. The code says that reading never climbed past the expected level, which could mean no heat or no signal.

Is this the same as E-24?

No. E-24 reports too much heat, and E-26 reports a reading that failed to rise. They sit at opposite ends, and we treat them with different checks.

Will a reset cure it?

It can clear a one-time glitch. If E-26 returns after the 60-second reset, something real is holding the reading flat, and a visit is the next step.
