What E-63 means
Most humidity programs on Samsung US microwaves allow the sensor a set time to show a change. E-63 reports a T1 max time humidity sensor error: the first timing stage ran out before the reading moved, so the oven stopped the program. The display shows the code and the food is left partly cooked, with no harm to the oven itself.
Common causes of E-63
- A humidity reading that did not change within the first timing stage
- A dish or cover that held moisture away from the sensor
- A sensor circuit that is slow or poorly connected
1. Check whether the dish is sealed so tightly that no moisture reaches the sensor. 2. Disconnect power at the plug or breaker and let moisture dry. 3. Wait 60 seconds and power on. 4. Run the program again with a loosely covered dish. 5. Request service if E-63 returns.
- A normal setup that still times out puts the focus on the sensor circuit.
- We test how the humidity reading responds in a controlled cook.
- The price comes in writing before any work.
Other Microwave codes
What does T1 stand for?
It is the first timing stage the oven gives a sensor to react. When it passes with no change, the oven stops and flags the sensor.
Is the food ruined?
Not usually. It is partly cooked, so you can finish it with timed cooking. Check that it is hot all the way through before eating.
Does the type of dish matter?
A loose cover helps moisture reach the sensor. A tight lid blocks it, so try the program again with a vented cover, or with the lid slightly open.
