On Samsung ranges and wall ovens in the US, door means the door is not closed. The control has not received the closed signal and holds the cycle. The owner sees the word door on the display even when the door looks shut. When that happens, the plunger switch is the thing to look at: a round black cap, with a pin that extends about three quarters of an inch when the door is open. It has to move freely, and the door has to close all the way.

1. Close the oven door firmly and make sure nothing, such as a towel or a rack, keeps it from shutting. 2. Look at the plunger switch, the round black cap by the door opening, and check that it moves freely when pressed with the oven off and cool. 3. Do not pry at it or open any panel. 4. Close the door again and restart the oven.

Why does my oven say door when the door is shut?

The plunger switch may be sticking, or the door may not be closing all the way. The control needs the closed signal before it will start or continue a cycle.
