Samsung Bespoke RF23DB9600QL Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Ice maker frozen solid or dropping fused cubes
  2. Water under the crisper drawers
  3. Fan alert on the temperature display
  4. Pitcher fill path in the Beverage Center

The RF23DB9600QL is a Bespoke counter depth refrigerator that is still sold new, with four doors and 23 cu. ft. of space. Its lower-right compartment can serve as either fridge or freezer. One door holds a Beverage Center with its own water pitcher, and a dual maker supplies ice in two cube types.

With two kinds of ice and a pitcher on one water supply, the ice makers get our attention first. Cubes that freeze solid or fuse together lead us to the fill valve, the supply pressure and the humidity entering through the seals. The pitcher fill path is a separate check. A fan alert on the temperature display sends us to the fans and any frost around them, and water under the crisper drawers sends us to the defrost drain.

We confirm the model and serial from the label before ordering a part. The price is written down first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty follows the repair.

RF23DB9600QLRF23DB9600QL questions
Why would the ice maker freeze up?

Too much water, a leaking valve or humid air entering through a poor seal can all freeze the ice maker solid. We check the fill valve and the gaskets, and we watch the dual ice maker to see which side is affected.

Does the Flex compartment need special checks?

Yes. We test it in both fridge and freezer modes, since a problem may show in only one of them. A compartment that cools well as a fridge but not as a freezer points to a different cause than one that fails in both.

What is the built-in water pitcher?

A pitcher built into the Beverage Center door that fills from the household water supply. If it fills slowly or not at all, we check the supply line, the filter and the valve feeding it before replacing any part.
