What bC2 / 6E2 / 6C2 means
These codes appear on Samsung dryers and mean a control button is jammed, stuck down or being pressed continuously. The dryer sees a key held in and will not accept normal commands, so it may not start, may ignore the cycle you chose, or may show the code as soon as it is powered on. A button can stick from debris, moisture, or a pad that no longer springs back, and the dryer needs a closer look if the key does not release.
Common causes of bC2 / 6E2 / 6C2
- Button or touch pad held down
- Moisture or residue under the control panel
- Key pad that no longer releases
- Control reading of the switch input
1. Turn the dryer off with the Power button, or unplug it if the display is stuck. 2. Press each button on the panel once, firmly, so any stuck key springs back. 3. Wipe the panel with a dry cloth and keep water away from it. 4. Plug the dryer back in and start a short cycle. 5. If the code returns, leave the panel alone and stop using the dryer.
- A button that releases may still stick again later.
- We check whether the key or the control is reporting the press, without you opening the panel.
- The price is given in writing before work, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Dryer codes
What does bC2 mean on a Samsung dryer?
It means a control button is being read as stuck or pressed all the time, so the dryer will not respond normally to any other command until the key is released.
Can moisture cause this code?
It can. Damp or residue under the panel can make a key read as pressed, so keep the panel dry and wipe it with a dry cloth, but not with a wet one.
Do I need to open the control panel?
No. Please do not open it. We check the key and the control on site and explain what we find before any part is ordered.
