What NC2 / NC3 means
These codes appear on the Samsung WD53DBA900H-series Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, for example the WD53DBA900HZA1. NC2 means the heat exchanger protective cover is not inserted, or its magnet was not detected. NC3 means the dehumidifying kit is not inserted, or its magnet was not detected. You will see the code on the display and the drying function will not start until the part is seated.
Common causes of NC2 / NC3
- Heat exchanger cover not seated
- Dehumidifying kit not seated
- Magnet missing or too far from its sensor
- Sensor that reads the magnet
1. Turn the unit off. 2. Note which code you see: NC2 or NC3. 3. Look at the cover or kit named by that code and check that it is fitted and pushed fully home, only if it is a part you remove during normal filter care. 4. Do not open panels that need tools. 5. Try the cycle again, then call us if the code stays.
- Whether the part is seated and the sensor is not reading its magnet cannot be told from the display.
- We check the cover, the magnet position and the sensor before recommending a part.
- The written price is yours to approve before work begins, and the repair carries a 30-day warranty.

Which part does NC2 refer to?
NC2 refers to the heat exchanger protective cover. NC3 refers to the dehumidifying kit. Each has a magnet that the unit uses to confirm the part is in place.
Can I run the wash side with NC2 or NC3?
Washing may still be possible on some cycles, but drying will not run. Seat the part and try again before running a full cycle. Check the cover or kit only if it is a part you handle during routine filter care, and leave the rest to us.
Why does it say not detected when the part is in?
The magnet may sit too far from the sensor, or the sensor may not read it. We test both when we inspect the unit. Sometimes the part is seated but a magnet has shifted slightly, and that alone is enough to keep the code on.
