What BC2 means
This code shows on the Samsung WD90F27 series and WD90F53AVS Laundry Combo. BC2 means the control senses an incorrect button state, with a button still pressed in. The unit thinks a key is being held down, so the controls may ignore your input or the cycle will not start. The display shows BC2 even when nothing is touching the panel.
Common causes of BC2
- Button held down by dirt, residue or a cleaning cloth
- Panel overlay swollen by moisture
- Control board reading a key incorrectly
1. Turn the unit off. 2. Look at the control panel and wipe it with a dry, soft cloth, making sure no button is stuck in. 3. Keep sprays and wet cloths away from the panel. 4. Wait two to three minutes and turn the unit on again. 5. Do not press several buttons at once while it powers up.
- If BC2 comes back, we cannot tell from the display whether the button, its pad or the board is reading wrongly.
- We test each control position for a stuck reading before recommending a part.
- If a part is needed we quote it in writing first, and the repair is under a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Why does BC2 appear when I am not pressing anything?
A button may be held in by residue or a swollen panel overlay, so the control reads it as pressed. Cleaning around the buttons sometimes releases it.
Is it safe to wipe the panel?
Yes, with the unit off and a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Do not spray liquid on the panel, because moisture can cause more control problems.
Will the unit work normally after the code clears?
Usually yes. If BC2 keeps coming back, the button pad or board needs a check by us. A quick wipe and a calm restart is a fair first try, and nothing about it risks the unit.
Still unsure about BC2?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
