What bE / bE2 / 6E means

On Samsung dryers with a digital display, including the DV45H series that shows bE2, these codes are jammed button errors. The control sees a panel button as held down continuously, or in an invalid state. The DV45H lists bE2 as an invalid state of a key. The dryer may refuse to start or may stop, and the display shows bE, bE2, or 6E.

Common causes of bE / bE2 / 6E

  • A panel button that is physically stuck or held by dirt or moisture
  • A button that the control reads as pressed after being cleaned or hit
  • The panel membrane or connection reporting a key that is not pressed

1. Turn the dryer off. 2. Touch and release every button on the panel, working across all edges of each one. 3. Wipe the panel with a dry cloth. Do not spray liquid on it. 4. Turn the dryer back on and try a cycle. 5. If the code returns, or the panel looks damaged, stop using the dryer.

Why does my dryer say bE when I am not pressing anything?

The control believes a button is being held. That can be a physical jam from grime, or the panel sending a false signal. Working every button often frees it.

Is 6E the same as bE?

They appear in the same group of jammed button errors. The display style decides which characters you see, and the check is the same for all of them.

Can a stuck button damage the dryer?

It is mostly a nuisance because the dryer will not run properly. If the panel is damaged or the code returns, we replace or repair the affected part after testing.
