What E-35 means

Weight cooking on Samsung US microwaves can end with E-35, an invalid weight error. Instead of reading light or heavy, the oven got a weight value that does not make sense, such as one that jumps around or falls outside what any real load would give. The cycle will not start and the code stays on the display, which is the oven declining to guess at a cooking time.

Common causes of E-35

  • A weight signal that is unstable or out of range
  • A load moved or bumped while the oven weighed it
  • A loose connection in the weighing circuit
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Set the food down once, centered on a flat dish, and leave it alone while the oven weighs. 2. Unplug the oven or switch off its breaker, and let any moisture dry. 3. After 60 seconds, power it back on. 4. Run the weight program again. 5. If E-35 persists, request service.

! Why to stop there
  • An unstable reading may come from the weighing circuit or from something touching the load, and a single try does not separate them.
  • We repeat the reading with known loads.

Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E-35E-35 questions
What counts as invalid?

The reading was not a usable number: it jumped, or fell outside any real load. It is different from too light or too heavy, which have their own codes.

Can vibration cause it?

A bumped counter or a shifting dish during weighing can give a bad reading. Set the food down gently, step back, and start again without touching it.

Do I have to give up on weight programs?

Not necessarily. Use timed cooking in the meantime, and ask us to check the weighing circuit if E-35 keeps showing even on a steady, centered load.
