What d0 / 1 DC / 1 dF means
These codes appear on Samsung dryers and are door-related errors. They point to the door, the latch or the door sensors, which tell the dryer the door is shut. If the dryer does not see the door as closed, it will not start or will stop a cycle already running, and the display shows the code. A load pressing on the door, a bent latch area or a loose door sensor reading can all give this result.
Common causes of d0 / 1 DC / 1 dF
- Door latch and striker alignment
- Anything blocking the door from closing
- Door switch or sensor reading
- Wiring from the door to the control
1. Open the door and check that nothing, such as clothing or a sock, is caught in the opening. 2. Look at the latch and the catch it clips into for lint, damage or bending. 3. Close the door firmly until you hear it latch. 4. Unload some clothes if the drum is overfilled, then try a short cycle. 5. If the code returns, stop using the dryer.
- A door that closes fine may still not register as closed to the dryer.
- We test the latch and the door sensor and read whether the control sees the door.
- You get the written price before we start, and we explain what we found.
Other Dryer codes
Why does my dryer say d0 when the door is closed?
The dryer reads a sensor, not the door itself. If the latch or sensor does not report closed, the dryer treats the door as open and will not run.
Can a full load cause a door error?
Yes. An overfilled drum or a piece of clothing in the opening can keep the latch from fully seating, so we check this first, before testing any sensor.
Is 1 DC the same as d0?
They are listed together as door-related codes. We confirm on the machine which door circuit the display is pointing to, since the latch and the sensor are checked separately.
Still seeing d0 / 1 DC / 1 dF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
