What d0 means
The d0 code on the Samsung NZ30K7570 induction cooktop means a touch key has been pressed for more than 8 seconds. The control reads that as a stuck key rather than a normal tap, so it shows d0 and ignores the input. The NZ30K7570RS/AA is the model this was confirmed on; other Samsung induction cooktops may differ. In daily use it usually shows up when something rests on the control panel, when liquid spreads across the glass, or when a key is touched and held by accident.
Common causes of d0
- Water, grease or a wet cloth on the control keys
- A pan handle, pot lid or utensil resting on the panel
- A touch sensor that keeps reading a press after the glass is clean
1. Turn the cooktop off. 2. Remove everything from the control area, including pots, lids and towels. 3. Wipe the glass dry with a soft cloth, paying attention to the keys. 4. Turn the cooktop back on. 5. If it still shows d0, unplug the power cord for at least 30 seconds and plug it back in.
- If d0 returns on a clean, dry panel, the key sensing itself needs testing.
- We check whether one key or several are reading a press that is not there.
- Any repair is quoted in writing before we start, with 30 days of workmanship coverage.
Other Cooktop codes
Why does my cooktop show d0 when I did not press anything?
Spilled liquid or an object on the glass can look like a held finger to the touch sensor. Dry the panel and clear it, then restart. If d0 persists on a clean panel, the sensor needs a closer look.
Is d0 dangerous?
It is an input warning rather than a heating problem. Still, a control that thinks a key is stuck is not responding to you reliably, so turn the cooktop off until the code clears.
Will cleaning always fix it?
Often, yes, when moisture caused it. If the code comes back with a spotless, dry panel, something in the touch circuit is reading wrong and we test it.
